Well done to our team at the NZ Open Water Champs and Epic swims on a cold and windy day in Lake Taupo. Congratulations to Cara Baker on winning the 5km &10Km Open Women, Caitlin Wall1st in the 5km 16 - 17yo Female, and Paige Schendelaar-Kemp 3rd 5Km 13-15yo Female. Our Epic swimmers also achieved some good results with Austin Hornby, Liana Smith, Paige Schendelaar-Kemp and Jana Korbasova all winning their age groups for their chosen distance. The 'What have I Qualified For' tool has been updated for the NZ Olympic qualifying times. Please note that the Olympic qualifying criteria requires the times to be swum at specific meets. The tool does not take this into account, it shows the swimmers fastest Long Course swum times. Therefore these are a guide only.

Club Champs are an excellent place to train as a swimming official (Timekeeper, Inspector of Turns, Starter, Referee). Please let Vicki know if you wish to do some training and we will schedule this during the club champs.

To find out what a Referee/JOS does come to the workshop on 24 Sep at Papatoetoe pool (10:30 - 12:30). You do not need to be qualified to attend these.

Well done to Corey and Alex at the Youth Commonwealth Games. Corey won the 50, 100 & 200 Backstroke events and Alex won the 200 Butterfly and finished 3^rd in the 50 & 100 events. To run meets and race nights the club needs qualified officials (Timekeepers, IOTs, Starters, etc). At present we are relying on a very small number of club members to fill these roles. We need your help to grow this pool of officials. Please help the club by volunteering to train as an official - none of the training is too hard (it generally just takes a little practice). Please contact Vicki to arrange a time to commence training.

Congratulations to Jana on finishing the Taupo Ironman in 11h 05m 27s. This placed her 8th place in her division (F 35-39), 39th female, and 414th overall. Jana was the first woman in swim by a couple of minutes, and 8th overall in swim.
